HISTORY

  • 1969

    Fundation

    Espumaciones Industrial Roday, S.L. began its activity with the installation of a continual block polyurethane foam, located in Mos, in the industrial area of Vigo (Spain).

  • 1972

    Incursion into the automobile industry

    Formation of COPO Ibérica, first company of the group that supplies components for the car industry, in the activity of foam molding to supply car seats fillings.

  • 1990

    Componentes de Vehículos de Galicia begins its business activity. Manufacture of molded and soundproof car carpets.

  • 1992

    Agreement with Fehrer and establishment of Copo Fehrer in Fuentes de Ebro (Zaragoza).

  • 1996

    Flexipol, the Portuguese manufacturer of continual block foam, joins Copo.

  • 1997

    Establishment of Copo Fehrer in Brazil, the first company of Grupo Copo in South America.

  • 1998

    A group of financial institutions led by Caixanova acquires 25% of the share capital of Grupo Copo de Inversiones.

    Dujo Copo, the first company of the group in Cuba, begins its activity.

  • 1999

    Establishment of Copo Thierry Brazil and Copo Thierry Portugal focused on fabrics.

  • 2000

    Grupo Copo is reorganized into four Business areas:  Foams, Home Foams, Fabrics and Coverings.

    Research and development activities are separated from the holding company, Grupo Copo de Inversiones, and the Centro Tecnológico de Grupo Copo, S.L. is created.

  • 2001

    Constitution of Dujo Copo Flex in Havana (Cuba).

    Michel Thierry Iberica, a society in which Grupo Copo participates, is created.

  • 2002

    Copo Fehrer Barcelona is established.

    Establishment of Copo USA Inc., the group’s first company in the USA.

  • 2005

    Flexipol assumes full manufacture of Copo Group’s block foam in the Iberian Peninsula.

  • 2006

    Sale of assets of Copo Eagle and Copo USA to Faurecia.

    Restructuration of Copo Fehrer Barcelona.

    Sodiga becomes shareholder of Grupo Copo de Inversiones.

  • 2007

    Grupo Copo acquires 100% of Copo Textile Portugal and Copo Textile Brazil.

  • 2010

    Grupo Copo acquires 100% of the capital of Copo Fehrer Brazil and Copo Zaragoza.

  • 2013

    The Group is reorganized into five business areas: R&D, EPP-Foams-, Blocks, Fabrics and Interiors.

  • 2014

    Plant in Mexico in the area of textiles.

    Commercial and textile design office in Germany.

  • 2015

    Copo settles in Pilsen (Czech Republic) to manufacture EPPs.
